In June of 2011, I wrote the first of what I was then calling “postcard poems” – prose poems in justified blocks of text on a 5″x7″ template, landscape orientation. Although I’m no longer titling them as such (e.g., “Postcard unto the lightning bug’s enticement”), I kept writing what I think of as postcard poems, written on what is a figurative journey toward eudaimonia, a state of happiness borne of good deeds, the good life, whatever that means.
